Through time ...

 

In the XX th century, André FANIEL invests in land in the municipality of Cormoyeux like his brother Louis with whom he worked in the FANIEL transport, which he founded. In 1950, after the tragic death of Louis, André turns to his childhood dream of becoming winemaker, while awareness of champagne was low.

With her children, Jean Claude, Michel, Jean Louis, Jacques and Claudine André will gradually give acclaim to previously forested land, while leaving its first bottles full of promise called André FANIEL. André becomes convinced of the true potential of this region.

With nearly 6ha vineyard constituted, André retired in 1980 and goes out to his three whose son Jacques. 3 Together, they will work hard to achieve a good operating 8ha by marketing under the same entity as their father.

Then in 1992, Jacques decides to develop its knowledge and experience on his side with his wife Brigitte. That's when the field J. FANIEL son of 4ha and was born with the couple Jacques and Brigitte (née Rossillion, daughter of Jean and Jacqueline farmers at Eton in the Meuse). This designation is made in honor of his two young son Mathieu and Romain then aged 12 and 6 years.

The field will be developed in a former rectory where the typical vaults allow to have optimal storage conditions.

After several years and a lot of work, the field takes the scale with an efficient working tool and a surface that is constantly growing, as is the loyal customer base.

In 2008, Mathieu, after studies in viticulture and oenology compléte professional experience, joined his parents. Today, the family continues to domain enhance the environment by weed plots, the implementation of preventive practices, but also the return of the wood, through the development of new wines coming with a wine in oak.

The area has just over 8ha and the desire to highlight the wealth of our ancestors is real and the offspring do not stop there ...
